The Department of Medical Physics at the College of Science, in collaboration with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, hosted a seminar organized by the National Security Agency/University Security Directorate titled
"Electronic Blackmail and Ways to Combat It."
The seminar aimed to highlight the dangers of electronic blackmail and its negative effects, while providing guidelines to protect personal accounts from hacking and to deal with blackmailers in the event of such occurrences. It also addressed the methods by which blackmailers obtain information from electronic devices such as phones and computers, or through hacking social media accounts, or luring victims through video chats or sending images.
Assistant lecturer Zainab Ali Abdul Hussein contributed to the presentation of the seminar, which also focused on raising the attendees' awareness of protection methods, such as securing personal accounts, and received positive interaction for the valuable information provided.
